Aadhaar card is an important document as it serves as a proof of identity in India. Aadhaar number is a 12 digit unique identification number issued by UIDAI on behalf of the Indian government which is verifiable online anywhere anytime using the Aadhaar authentication platform. A number of government schemes and services require Aadhaar number these days for verification and registration purposes. After enrolment, once your Aadhaar number is generated, you can download it from the UIDAI website. Below is the step by step procedure for downloading Aadhaar card

Procedure for downloading Aadhaar Card / E-Aadhaar
To download your E-Aadhaar card, you should have your Aadhaar number or your 14 digit enrolment number with you. Just follow the below steps to download your E-Aadhaar card.
1. Go to the UIDAI website: https://uidai.gov.in/
2. Click on “Download Aadhaar” button on the left-hand side of the screen under “Aadhaar Enrolment” section in “Aadhaar Online Services” menu.
3. It will take you to a new page.
5. Enter your enrolment number or Aadhaar number as per the chosen option.
6. Enter your full name.
7. Enter your PIN code.
8. Enter the image code (Captcha code).
9. Enter your mobile number.
10. Click on “Get One Time Password” button.
11. Now you will receive One Time Password (OTP) on your mobile.
12. Enter the received OTP.
13. Click on “Validate & Download” tab.
14. Now you can download your E-Aadhaar card.
15. After downloading your E-Aadhaar card PDF file, use your area pin code as a password to open the PDF file. You can now print this PDF file and this is a fully valid Aadhaar card.
Note: Now the new e-Aadhaar letter pdf password will be of 8 characters. It will be a combination of the first four letter of your name in capital letters and year of birth in YYYY format as shown in the below image.

Get Aadhaar Number on Mobile Number
You need to have enrolment Id and your registered mobile number to get your Aadhaar on your mobile.
1. Go to the UIDAI website: https://uidai.gov.in/
2. Click on “Get Aadhaar Number on Mobile” button on the left-hand side of the screen under “Aadhaar Enrolment” section in “Aadhaar Online Services” menu.
4. Enter enrolment Id, mobile number and security code in the Personal Details section.
5. Click on “Send One Time Password” tab.
6. Now you will receive One Time Password (OTP) on your mobile.
7. Enter the received OTP in Enter OTP section.
8. Click on “Submit” tab. Now, you will receive your Aadhaar number on your mobile number.
How to Find Lost Aadhaar Number (UID) & Enrolment Number (EID)
In case your mobile number/Email is registered in Aadhaar, you can retrieve your lost UID/EID by visiting UIDAI website. But if your mobile number is not registered in Aadhaar then you have to visit any Permanent Aadhaar Enrolment Center to find your lost UID/EID.
Finding Lost Aadhaar Number (UID) & Enrolment Number (EID) online
1. Go to the UIDAI website: https://uidai.gov.in/
2. Click on “Retrieve Lost UID/EID” button on the left-hand side of the screen under “Aadhaar Enrolment” section in “Aadhaar Online Services” menu.
4. Select the option from the “Aadhaar Number (UID) or Enrolment Number (EID)” under “Select UID/EID” option.
5. Enter your full name, Email or mobile number and security code in the Personal Details section.
6. Click on “Send One Time Password” tab.
7. Now you will receive One Time Password (OTP).
8. Enter the received OTP in Enter OTP section.
9. Click on “Verify OTP” tab.
10. Now, you will receive your Enrolment Number (EID) / Aadhaar number (UID) on your mobile number/ Email.
